Have you ever considered what the word “Politics” means? It will help you to know because “politics” is not the same as “governing.” Many of our “politicians are not governing, but they are practicing politics.” So what is “Politics?”

“Politics is the activities, actions, and policies that are used to gain and hold power in a government or to influence a government.”

Politics is all about getting, gaining and holding power over people and nations. God established government to serve the people, but when “politics” is the main activity of those who are supposed to be “governing” then we have a problem, a huge problem.

See “politics” and “politicking” is meant to get people into positions of governance so that they can serve the people, the nation and God well. What happens is that most “politicians” never transition from “politicking” (and plundering) to “governering well.”
‘Thus says the Lord: “Those who uphold Egypt shall fall, And the pride of her power shall come down. From Migdol to Syene Those within her shall fall by the sword,” Says the Lord God.

We are called on to pray for those in positions of power and in government – Let’s pray that they come to know and to exercise the difference between “politics” and “governing well” and that once they gain a position of power that they willingly and gladly transition to governing well – putting aside the former elemental stages of “politicking.”

and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not Godin heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?

The Johnson Amendment in the United States has for many years placed a prohibition on churches and Christian non profit agencies so that they could not engage in “politics,” or “politicking.” There are arguments for and in favor of the Johnson Amendment, but one thing rings true – the influence of Christians and the Christian influence on “politicians” has been eroded and weakened. It’s pretty clear that this world does not desire that Christians have and hold power with which they can influence nations and peoples – yet we do influence nations and people through the power of God to save and to redeem – being the very Gospel – the Good News concerning Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection to life and to throne reigning in heaven and His soon return…even still.

And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lordit is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
Consider how you can “influence” what matters to God, to your “politicians” and “elected officials” in a Godly way. Pray for them and press for real change when you need to. You have rights and not all of the power belongs to those in “politics” – God is all powerful and He hears His sons and daughters. Speak up and be heard in heaven and on earth.
Not Ashamed of the Gospel ] Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
