The Centurion was not too proud to ask for help from Jesus and to believe that Jesus could set that help into motion, into reality, from any physical distance. The miracle you will read about was a “long distance miracle” ushered in by a plea for help and faith to back it up.

The Faith of the Centurion

5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”

7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Matthew 8:5-13

Do you have faith for a right now miracle? Have you sought out Jesus for the help, the miracle that you need? Was your request seasoned with faith in the goodness, grace and power of Jesus to answer your request? Maybe today you have a loved one who is sick and lives far away from you? Jesus still does long distance miracles. Maybe you have a child away at school and you see the change that needs to happen in their life? Jesus still works long distance on school and university campuses. Perhaps you have a child who hasn’t spoken to you in several years? Jesus the worker of Long Distance Miracles is still on the throne. Maybe you live in one nation and your child lives in another far away land and you have concerns, doubts, fears? Jesus can work long distance miracles for you today.

What are the secrets to getting long distance miracles?

  1. Humble yourself. Humility is like pollen on a flower to God, He is attracted to it!

  2. Ask for help. “Often you have not because you ask not and when you do ask sometimes you ask with the wrong motives.”

  3. Express true words of faith to Jesus. Tell Him how much you believe that He wants to, can and has the wonder working power to activate your long distance miracle.

  4. Recognize God’s absolute authority over all things in heaven and on earth.

  5. Submit yourself to the authority of God willingly and gladly.

  6. Receive what God does for you gladly and in great faith.

  7. Praise Him in the storm and when the answer comes give Him all of the glory.

God will give you the answers as you cry out to Him and trust in Him.
