For many people “community” is difficult on many levels. Community can be difficult to achieve, to maintain and to see prosper in the life of a group, a church or a ministry. Jesus lived in “community” with His disciples – it is how He taught them to live.

Teach us to number each of our days so that we may grow in wisdom.

Psalm 90:12NOG

Sometimes we live a lifetime and never get into “authentic community” relationships. Many of us find that in the past “community” has let us down, accused us, or hurt us – but God has greater for all of us and together, in community – we can do more. Oh God teach us to number each of our days so that we may grow in wisdom. Help us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as the church, the community of Christians and as friends, neighbors and family.

Oh God help us to not do life alone. There is a richness that comes with community and especially with the community of Christ. Make it your goal this year to be found in “community” with believers in your area and more so with those who desire to live life faithfully as led by the Word of God and the Spirit of the Living God. You don’t need to be alone when Jesus is with you and your family in Christ is near to you.
